Scarcelle

INGREDIENTS FOR 4 PERSONS
DOUGH
-500 gr flour
-2 eggs
-100 gr olive oil
-200 gr sugar
-1 sachet of yeast for sweets
-half glass of milk
DECORATION:
-icing (calledsc'lepp): 500 gr sugar, 150 gr water, half lemon juice
-small coloured pieces of sugar


PROCEDURE:
Mix the flour with the eggs, the yeast , the oil and the milk to get a soft and smooth mixture. Roll out the dough shaping it as you like it. Put it into an airy oven at 180° for about 10 minutes. For the making of the icing: put sugar and water into a small pan and cook them. As soon as the mixture boils, turn down the flame and mix often so that it does not burnt. Cook on a slow heat for 20 minutes, then dip the pan in a container full of cold water and allow the mixture to cool for some minutes, then mix, pouring some lemon juice from time to time. Mix until the mixture becomes white and thick. Pour quickly the icing on the ‘scarcelle’ and spread the small coloured pieces of sugar on them
